Noah and the Ark
Deuteronomy 15 (King James Version)
1At the end of every seven years thou shalt make a release.
2And this is the manner of the release: Every creditor that lendeth ought unto his neighbour shall release it; he shall not exact it of his neighbour, or of his brother; because it is called the LORD’s release.
How many truly bought low, released and sold high?
For those who say Commodities, the Dollar, Dow, Economy, Real Estate or Treasuries have nothing to do with them, just how and where do you live? Do you prefer to keep bathing, eating, living or hope to retire? Are you counting on corporate or government bailouts?
Think again.
The Big Picture
Part of enlightenment and prosperity is preparing, taking responsibility, loving ourselves, our families and our neighbors, now and again tomorrow.
In 2008, it is increasingly hard to deny Afghan, African, American, Asian, European, Indonesian, Pacific, Tibetan and other casualties are our neighbors.
In the global electronic village, what happens to one has consequences for all of us, no matter how isolated, remote or special we may think or wish we are. We can always turn the news off. Is ignorance bliss? Think not.
One interesting example might be the stampede in and out of emerging markets like Brazil, Russia, India and China. The zeal was exporting capitalism and democracy at the point of a gun.
Morgan Stanley (Barra) Capital International Emerging Markets Index Fund, EEM, went from 26.40 in 2006 to 55.12 in 2007 to 18.22 on November 2008. This was a rise of 108% followed by a decline of 67%, with a further long-term target of 9. Breakeven from 18.22 is +302%. From 9 it would be 612%.

+612% could take a very long time. And what’s the fun of breaking even? Why not get and stay ahead by learning the lessons of history and applying the common sense of Biblical economics?
