Sometimes a Sunday School Story makes a vivid lasting lesson. Can we imagine living 500 years before we had children? Can we envision building an ark for our family and animals while neighbors ignore or ridicule us? Can we imagine surviving 40 days and nights of rain with floods and no supermarket? Kauai can.
The Bible says Noah was a good man. He walked with God, and listened. He prepared for the flood, prospered and replenished the earth. He lived 950 years as a happy man. Imagine his compound return on equity! (The first 100 years were the toughest.)
It’s worth recalling Noah on the anniversary of the Great Deflation.

Annus horribilis, Annus mirabilis
Queen Elizabeth used the red latin phrase Annus horribilis in antipode to John Dryden’s 1666 poem regarding a year of wonders, Annus mirabilis.
In 1992 the Royal Family of the United Kingdom suffered 3 divorces or separations, including Prince Charles and Lady Diana, now buried lady of the lake. Ten years after a barefoot besotted father of four bypassed Royal security at 7:15 AM, conversed with the Queen in her budoir in Buckingham Palace and asked for a cigarette, the Windsor Castle caught fire, destroying priceless artifacts.
