Jesse Now~ Livermore Lessons, not Ventura Ventures
JL left trusts and cash over $5 million for his family, worth over $75 million today.
He also left a suicide note in his pocket:
My dear Nina: Can’t help it. Things have been bad with me. I am tired of fighting. Can’t carry on any longer. This is the only way out. I am unworthy of your love. I am a failure. I am truly sorry, but this is the only way out for me. Love Laurie
Jesse Jr and Jesse III married and divorced several times.
Both committed suicide by natural gas in the month of February approaching the end of winter. Jesse Jr passed in 1976 and Jesse III passed in 2006.
Today they might be medicated for depression.
Who knows what kind of traders they might be on psych-meds?
We can certainly learn the lesson of Jesse Lauriston Livermore, that whenever he did not trust his instincts, respect his principles of patience with discipline or use his trading rules, including limiting losses and adding to profits, he lost, and lost big.
