The Fed or Treasury could revalue gold reserves from the official $42 an ounce to current market value overnight to strengthen the government balance sheet.

That still might not convince many who suspect government gold reserves were pledged, squandered or even stolen a long time ago for mercantile Treasury Bond buyers who demanded real collateral.

The Fed worked hand in glove with the US Treasury, which taxed and indebted Americans to the tune of $13 Trillion, now approaching the size of the US Economy. Service on the Treasury debt is now the third largest Government budget item after Transfer Payments and Defense.

The Fed and Treasury report to Congress, which committed American taxpayers to some $104 Trillion in unfunded government agency mandates including FDIC, FNM, FRE, GNMA, Medicare, OPIC, PBGC and Social Security.

Consider the US Constitution Article I Section 9 requires:

No money shall be drawn from the treasury, but in consequence of appropriations made by law; and a regular statement and account of receipts and expenditures of all public money shall be published from time to time.

Fourth, Corporate lobbyists reportedly spent $114 Million lobbying and writing TARP legislation. They received $295 Billion in bailouts.

Their CEOs were on record as saying TARP was a windfall for strategic acquisitions such as the JPM Chase acquisitions of Bear Stearns and Washington Mutual, the PNC acquisition of NCC, the WFC acquisition of Wachovia.

Boards and CEOs said they had no strings requiring lending priorities to taxpayers.

    A theory like this one seems impossible to fathom. Is the government doing whatever is necessary to maintain calm among the population after these speculations aboutthe end of the world? If this theory is accurate, we wonder who the people who are on the list will be.
