Jubilee Prosperity

We always enjoyed the Old English Proverb:

Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime. Knowledge is the best charity.

This was attributed to Christ, whose followers actually said:

If a man will not work, he shall not eat (2 Thessalonians 3)

And

The worker deserves his wages (Luke 10:7)

Neither seems to be the case in the West today.

Please forgive us if we get a little pedantic or repetitive sharing the benefits and sometimes-painful lessons of 50 years in the market trenches.

We started pulling thousands of weeds for silver dollars from our grandfather and moved on to paper routes, caddying golf, lifeguarding and tutoring.

We taught at Stanford five years by Academic Senate Appointment, not really a good argument for pedantic poverty.

This past week we learned yet another lesson posting our expensive Big4 Weekly and TopTen Seasonal findings on various blogs in the spirit of benevolence.

We were jostled, rudely awakened and jeered by catcalls, reminding us of our fallen human state and occasional forgetful foolishness.
